I have Maytag electric range MER7662WS1. I'm getting an F9 code which precludes operating the range at all.

I think I can check the door latch switch continuity for the open and closed latch positions by manually operating the little piston on the side of the switch. But should I also check that the motor will work? And if so, how?

If the problem is in the ERC, the repair will be very expensive, and I expect to replace the whole range instead.

If you test across the brown and white wires going to the motor, and power is present, then the motor should be turning. If there is no power, then the board is bad.
