Model Number: CGR3742CDC Brand: Magic Chef Age: 1 - 5 years
Getting an F9 error. The charts I've read say to check the door lock circuit. How do you do that?

Check the switch on the door latch for continuity. It should be closed when the door is locked and open when the door is unlocked.
If there is nothing wrong then the electronic oven control (aka clock) has to be replaced. - The part number for the clock is AP4309072 - The part number for the latch switch is AP375254 Here are the break down diagrams for the Magic Chef range Model CGR3742CDC Gene.

Hi Gene,
When the door is closed, the latch will move all the way left to right (unlocked to locked) but still indicates "locked" on the display. When the door is open, the latch will not swing all the way from left to right. I apologize for my ignorance with all of this, so I sincerely appreciate your help. |

Check if the door latch handle is not bend and is properly screwed to the door latch. Check the latch switch for continuity.
Gene.
