Door latches are made of plastic, one of them broke off. Called Whirlpool and was told, we had to buy the whole door ($150.00 or more). Is there anywhere to get just the plastic latch? Or is it possible to make such out of a paper clip or other item? Not sure if it's safe to use metal, as it would come incontact with the switch. The clip attaches with a single screw, easy to replace.

We got the same runaround from them. It was cheaper to go to Target and just buy a new one. What a waste. Ours wasn't even a year old.
