10+ year old Maytag washer with drain issues. Set up: washer is on 13" pedestal drawer and drain hose runs up to drain p-trap that is 68" off floor. Have replaced the drain pump after examining the rubber check valve on the old one and thought it was not keeping water from coming back down the drain hose from p-trap up high. NO change at all. Yesterday, I installed a brass check valve just downstream of the drain pump, thinking the pressure of the water column in drain hose was causing it to seep past the rubber check valve on the new pump. STILL no change - wash cycle completes and drum is empty, or mostly empty, then after laundry removed, water slowly fills the drum again over the next hour of so. Listening to washer as it ran full cycle, it does not sound like pump is having to work too hard to pump past added check valve. I am beginning to wonder if the water level switch is faulty or perhaps the circuit board. Online chat with APP person led to the water supply solenoid being suggested, but that seems incorrect to me b/c drum fills up after cycle has finished. At this point I am grasping for straws. Anyone able to help? Please? Earlier post is linked below and have added a pic of the check valve install.
