I have a refrigerator that has slowly been wearing down. First, the defrost quit working, then it start coming on every few days for a few days, then off for a few days.

I've replaced both the defrost thermostat harness and the defrost timer. Before i replaced the defrost timer the compressor only ran when the defrost heater was on, but it got stuck and kept getting hotter until i unplugged it. Now nothing is running since i installed the new defrost timer. The light comes on, but that's it.

I don't really want to get a new refrigerator right now because i won't need it in a few months. And the compressor seems to run fine when it does run. But other than the thermostat i can't thing of anything else to look at.

Seems like you have a wiring problem, you will need a meter to check.

You have not provided any info that will help us with your problem. You may have plugged a connector in wrong, which is usually impossible to do, or you have a serious wiring problem that we cannot solve for you without looking at the item.

yep, modular and pretty impossible to plug them in wrong without breaking things.

Absolutely a waste of time here.
