bottom freezer ge frig keeps freezing .frig stops cooling .defrost it and it works for 4 or 5 days then ...repeat.COULD swapping the swing on the door have any thing to do with it?

GE frig with bottom freezer keeps freezing up .frig quits working freezer still freezes. After defrosting works for 4 or 5 days .can reversing the door swing have anything to do with this? .(just bought it used)

Most probable problem is a bad defrost heater. Remove the freezer panel and check heater, if black inside with a gap, it's bad, get a new one on this site.
