Dryer Will Not Continue To Run Unless I Hold The Switch To The On Position. Just Replaced The "on Switch" And It Is Still Doing It.

Here are your parts Replacement parts for GE DBXR453ET0WW | AppliancePartsPros.comI detest GE as they keep their tech info a secret so the above is general info and not specific to your unit. Since you replaced the start switch I am assuming you did not find the wiring diagram in the control console. When you release the switch the unit has to use an alternate circuit path to keep power to the motor's run winding. This is often one of the centrifugal switches on the motor. If you hold the switch and get no heat on a timed dry high heat setting odds are high that the switches are not being activated by the mechanism on the motor as the second centrifugal switch turns on power to the heater. Looks like your unit has a belt break switch on the idler wheel. Perhaps your belt is broken or the switch is not working. |

Did not see your original post When I Turn My Dryer On, It Makes A Nois As If Its On But The Drum Is No Turning And When I Open The Door The It Is Not Heating Up Either. The Start Switch Is One That You Just Turn To On And Let Go And The Switch Then Goes Back To The Original Position. The Dryer Will Not Continue Sounding Like Its On Unless I Hold The Switch To The On Position. With theis additional info I think the belt is broken |
