roars-literally, when spinning. have replaced bearings, suspension rod supports and am now thinking I need to replace the transmission. Every forum and blog I read says it is the bearing, but we have replaced the bearing---any thoughts?

You replaced the tub bearing? Most likely the lower transmission bearing is bad. It's a bit of work but can be replaced versus replacing the transmission. You can visually check the bearing to see if it is rusted out. Eric

I will have to see how to check that out. Not sure how but it will save about $150 if that is it. Do you know of any diagrams or videos of that replacement? Thank a lot, we thought we had changed the only bearing.

No, it will not fit on the transmission shaft. You need the special bearing that I suggested which has a 1" bore. The 25mm bearing is 63/64" and is just a hair too small to fit.
