After fishing out the spoon that my son dropped into the disposal the sound of grinding metal has not stopped. I felt around the inside of the disposal and cannot find any foreign materials. What next?

With the power to the disposer turned off, see if the blade is loose. Unfortunately, we do not carry parts for Insinkerator brand, so I wouldn't be able to help you there.

I found a breakdown diagram for Badger 5 and a place where you may possibly get replacement parts from if needed (we haven't dealt with them, so "buy at your own risk"). Hopefully, you could just tighten the blade a little.

Hope this helps.
