I took the cover access assembly panel "thingy" off the back of my fridge because it was warped and bubbled. it was almost like paper. anyway, i proceeded to pull the insulation out from around the motor and fan and now I can't find a replacement assembly panel, as GE has discontinued it and I don't have any information about the insulation stuff either. I threw it all out.. can anybody tell me what I should do? the fridge works fine, but was very dirty "under there", hence the clean out:(

It is very important to have the cover (#616 on the unit break down diagram) in place to maintain a proper air flow inside the compressor compartment.

You can make a cover from a cardboard and just tape it to the body.

The purpose of the insulation is to decrease the noise and it's not affecting anything.
