The dryer stopped heating. I youtubed it and checked the thermostat and the thermal fuse. The fuse/cutoff is dead. Checked with Ohmometer. It's been suggested to replace both the thermostat and the fuse. I have found the thermostat on the appliance part site but I can't find the fuse. There is no part number on the fuse either. Does anyone know what thermal fuse/cut off is compatible with thermostat part number: AP3776463? Whirlpool 8182508 Thermostat - AppliancePartsPros.comGreatly appreciate the help.

There aren't any thermal fuses on this dryer. This dryer design is different than most. There are two thermostats on the heater assembly. One is the hi limit thermostat and the other is a manual reset safety thermostat. It has a button to reset it if tripped. The hi limit thermostat is part number AP3776463 and the manual reset safety is AP5646585. The operating thermostat and another safety thermostat. Eric

I need to check/replace the operating thermostat on my whirpool compact dryer model #wed7500vw0. I was havin the same problem: dryer runs but no heat. I checked the heating element and both safetys located at the element and they are fine. My problem is that I have NO IDEA how to get to the operating thermostat and the thermostat located at the front of the dryer. How do you access those parts??????
