The dryer stopped heating. I youtubed it and checked the thermostat and the thermal fuse. The fuse/cutoff is dead. Checked with Ohmometer. It's been suggested to replace both the thermostat and the fuse. I have found the thermostat on the appliance part site but I can't find the fuse. There is no part number on the fuse either. Does anyone know what thermal fuse/cut off is compatible with thermostat part number: AP3776463?

There aren't any thermal fuses on this dryer. This dryer design is different than most. There are two thermostats on the heater assembly. One is the hi limit thermostat and the other is a manual reset safety thermostat. It has a button to reset it if tripped. The hi limit thermostat is part number AP3776463 and the manual reset safety is AP5646585.

There are two other thermostats on the blower housing. The operating thermostat and another safety thermostat.

Thank you Eric for the clarification. However the manual reset thermostat on my dryer looks like the picture below This doesn't look like the part you recommended AP5646585. Are they interchangeable?

Yes, the original Whirlpool part number was 8182502 which has been replaced with W10483239 which is APP part AP5646585.

I need to check/replace the operating thermostat on my whirpool compact dryer model #wed7500vw0. I was havin the same problem: dryer runs but no heat. I checked the heating element and both safetys located at the element and they are fine. My problem is that I have NO IDEA how to get to the operating thermostat and the thermostat located at the front of the dryer. How do you access those parts??????
