If evaporator only has a small area of frost, you have a bad compressor/refrigerant leak.

Yup, that is the symptom. Frost at the bottom and top of the evaporator and clear all over. Could it be a compressor relay or start capacitor? I ran the service diagnostics and the thermistor, heating element and fans checked out. I'm with you though, a weak charge or bad compression could be the issue.
Is there a good way to test the compressor or charge besides removing it?
Thanks for the help.
