Bought this 12-16, 2013. 1 /2 weeks ago. Hooked up new dryer and it melted the main outside on the pole. Replaced the main (100 amp service) $45.00, and then popped the new breaker. Replaced the dryer plug on the wall, it was old anyway but it worked 2 days before it popped the main again. Do the new dryers draw more current than older ones? My house was built in 1968 and has most of the wiring done in 8 ga wire.

That sounds like the next srep. Seems it should trip the dryer circuit first and not the main. I'm thinking the connection at pole to house needs investigating. Thank you for responding and I hope you and yours have a very Merry Christmas. Bill
