Washer is level has been working fine, recently started leaping immediately after the spin cycle before shutting off.

Get some sil-glyde grease. Remove washer cabinet and place a small dab of grease on inside vertical surface of the brake hub. Make sure to apply it on the hub surface where the brake pads are currently not in contact with.
