Here is my problem
I have the hotpoint that dries for a couple of loads then does not dry -- see old thread on subject
I replaced the coils - checked for continuety - and still have the same problem - heats fine for 3-4 loads then load 5 is damp then no heat
It just did it - worked fine on sensi dry for 3 loads-then would not ignite on load 4- switched to timed dry and it ignited but must of gone out as the clothes did not dry.
I need an idea - ??timer switch

Hi Mike,

It should be the hi limit thermostat (#530 on the drum and duct break down diagram).

- The part number for the hi limit thermostat is AP2042686

To make sure this is the beast- you have to check it for continuity right at the time when the dryer stopped heating.

Here are the break down diagrams for the GE dryer Model DLL2450RAL

Gene.
