Looking for some guidance. Came home and found fridge not cooling. Fortunately in time to save the contents! I am hearing a clicking noise from time to time and asking if that would be a faulty defrost timer causing this?

The clicking you are hearing is likely from the compressor's start device, mounted on the left side of the compressor. That part is simply pushed on to the compressor and will pull off. Be sure the refrigerator is unplugged before removing it. Once off, shake the start device and if it rattles, which I suspect it will, replace it. The start device is shown as number 15 in the diagram and the replacement is available below. http://www.appliancepartspros.c...e-8201799-ap3873993.htmlAppliance Ninja attached the following image(s):

If the new start device looks the same as the old one, just make a diagram of where all the wires go before you replace it.

Appliance Ninja - you are the master! Problem was exactly as you stated. Found a parts store Saturday and had the fridge back up running and stocked by the afternoon. Saved the weekend cookout! Thought I was going to spend the weekend chasing down a fridge from Craigslist!

That is great news, nice work! I am glad you got it up and going quickly. be sure to clean the condenser coils down there, too. If they get dirty, they don't dissipate the heat well and can lead to that type of failure. Have a great Sunday!
