Refrigerator doesn't want to run except until I thump the control panel with my fist. Then it runs until I thump it again and it stops. Clearly something is wrong with the control panel... but what? I don't know which components I should replace. Can someone enlighten me?

Here are your parts Parts for Whirlpool GD22DFXFN00 Refrigerator - AppliancePartsPros.comThe most likely cause is the thermostat. To give a little more confidence that it is bad instead of smacking the control panel just rotate the freezer thermostat up/down (not to off). If the unit firse up then I would replace the thermostat (item 9 in section 12) |

OK, I'll order the part. The refrigerator is running and won't shut off even when I smack the control panel.
