It seems that lately dishes have been coming out a bit dirty lately, so I removed the plastic shield from our old Magic Chef DU2000W dishwasher to check for dirt.

Under the shield I found the pump housing to be full of water. Is this normal? Should the housing pump be full of water after a full cycle? Just to make sure, I ran a second full cycle last night. I checked again this morning and there was water under the shield. When you leave the shield on, you can not see any water, it's only visible when the shield is removed. I have attached a picture.

Can someone please let me know if the water is supposed to stay there, or if it's supposed to drain out at the end.

Thanks!
