I am not exactly sure of the age of this side by side as it came with the house.

I'm having a problem with the ice maker. It works for about 3 weeks and then the IM feed tube freezes up. When this occurs I have to warm up the freezer and then the ice maker will work for some time.

The last time this happened I noticed solid ice in the feed tube which I pulled out.

There is no ice / water in the bottom of the freezer and no frost - which leads me to believe the de-froster is working fine.

Serial # for this unit is 954243cx700747 b

I'd most appreciate your assistance!

Check your freezer temperature with a thermometer. Should be between 0 and 5 degrees F.

It could be a problem with the fill valve. Perhaps it has a couple drips after it is supposed to shut off. This then freezes and builds up until it eventually clogs the tube.

Check that the tube end is clean and does not have a burr on it which may hold back a drop or two.
