Hi,

I’ve got a Model = LSR8233E OR LSR8233EQO
SERIAL = CG22229083
Whirlpool Ultracare heavy duty Super Capacity Plus
Supreme 8 cycle 2 speed motor . It's a rebuilt one

The unit was working
until I heard a really bad noise when it was trying to engage
the agitation. I thought maybe the “cams” had gone bad again,
(I’d replaced them about a year ago w/your “Medium Cam
Agitator Repair Kit) ,as the agitator wasn’t doing anything, but
then it came out of it.

Now the agitator won’t spin and it appears to go through it’s
cycle and the pump is working. I’ve a feeling after looking at
some online questions from other people that the clutch
might be the issue. This means I’d have to order Clutch
Assembly OEM Part Number: AP3094537. I can hear the unit
running quietly, just not doing any agitating or spin drying either.
Only the pump seems to be doing it’s job.

From what I’ve described to you, does this appear to be what you
think might be the solution as well?

You need a motor coupler, not a clutch. The clutch only affects spin. A bad coupler will affect both agitation and spin and can make a lot of noise.
