I ordered a new ignitor and it still doesnt work..Using an AC current probe to measure.. the old ignitor was showing 2.75 after about a minute, wouldnt go any higher. I read somewhere that the range should be 3.2 to 3.6 for it open the valve. When the new ignitor came in I installed it and the oven still doesnt work. The AC current goes to 3.79 after a half a mintute and stays there. My question is would an value over 3.6 amps cause the valve to not open? Is this a faulty ignitor? Has anyone ever heard of a case like this?

Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 10/22/2012(UTC) Posts: 5		I tried replacing the valve (actually just laying the new valve alongside the existing one and connecting the wires and listening/feeling the new valve) and it doesnt open or close either when the ignitor gets red hot and the current reading is 3.79 Amps. Could my problem be a defective ignitor? Or should I look at something else?

Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 7/16/2013(UTC) Posts: 916		Check main valve (first in line connected to wall supply hose) on the unit and see if you turned or bumped the switch off there's a flipswitch that turns the gas off going to the oven area.

Where would this main valve be? Near the Top of the stove? The burners on top work fine.. does this valve only control gas to the oven?
