I have a GE gas dryer that I've been trying to fix which has no heat. I did some troubleshooting based on information from the forums and decided to order the gas valve coil kit. I replaced the two gas valve coils but still don't consistently get ignition. I have seen the system ignite, but it seems to be very sporadic.
If I unplug the dryer, then plug it back in, and start it I can see the igniter glow for about 10 seconds. But I get no flame.
After this happens, the igniter will not glow until I unplug the dryer again. Maybe this is some kind of safety since it knows it did not light previously?
Any ideas?

sounds like even though your ignitor glows temporarily maybe it's not pulling enough amps to release the gas valve...........you'll need an amp clamp meter and watch a youtube video on testing gas dryers......Good luck

If the igniter is not pulling enough amperage would it be the igniter that gets replaced or another item?
