I received part # W10180607 from Appliance Parts which is a circuit board emitter for an ice maker. I put the part in last night but the ice maker is not working. I may need to purchase the corresponding receiver circuit board. Before I do that is there a way I can check to see if the emitter that was sent is truly working?

Close the flapper on the left side and push in the light switch. Take a picture of the beam with a cell phone or camera. Should show the infra red beam.

Thanks Rich. Looks like emitter is working.

If I unplug the fridge for 5 seconds and then plug it in again then I see a steady red light on the LED at the receiver. A short time later I hear the ice maker motor come on for a short time. Within minutes the LED stays off and I can't make it come back on unless I unplug the fridge again. And no ice made. Should I try testing the ice maker?

Remove the receiver board, the one with the relay and put a thin, wire jumper between the black/ white and black connector pins temporarily. Icemaker should now get 115 volts, if not, you have a bad wire in the fridg.

I'm having the same problem where if i unplug and plug back in the red light will be on steady but after a few minutes it goes out.

Did you find a solution?
