Here are your parts Parts for Whirlpool WFE381LVS0 Range - AppliancePartsPros.comSee the attachment for the tech sheet. "noting works on it unless you turn one off the cook top knows to the on position." I am assuming that the above has a couple typos and you mean : nothing works on it unless you turn one of the cook top knobs to the on position. You may have a power problem re: no L1 voltage. What happens is that the L2 voltage feeds back trough the stove top element switch and this then powers up the control board. You of course get no heat as the elements require L1 to L2 voltage (240 volts). I would check the wiring in the unit before starting the below just to be sure that a wire has not shorted out and was the cause of the burning smell. Try flipping the breaker off/on slowly a couple times, sometimes you can loose half the line without actually tripping the breaker. If this does nothing, check the voltage at the plug L1 to L2 should be 240 volts L1 to Neutral and L2 to Neutral, both should be 120 volts. If OK Unplug the unit and check the wires at the terminal strip in the machine to make sure none are loose or burned out If OK Check the power at the terminal strip. Be careful as 240 volts is lethal !!! |
