hi. my ge gss22jfma ww side by side refrigerator isnt cooling properly and runs constantly. the only time it shuts off is for the defrost cycle. if i keep the temp settings on 9(max) for the freezer and 1(min) for the fridge the freezer will maintain about 15 degrees. however if i turn up the fridge side any then the freezer will increase in temp. the evaporator coils are about one-third covered with frost from the bottom up. the defrost heater works.i have defrosted it manually several times and the same issue occurs immediately. im guessing its a problem with the thermostat or thermistors? any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

This sounds like a refrigeration problem such as a clogged capillary tube, short on gas or a bad compressor. You are better off calling a professional or replace it. The repair job will be expensive so replacing it may be a better option. You can post pictures of how the evaporator coils to be sure but your decryption sounds bad. The last picture on this page shows an example of a refrigeration problem. It is a top freezer so the coils are shaped different but the it should give you an idea. http://www.appliance-repair-it....erator-not-cooling2.html
