My son said the washer was stuck, and I think he hit or pushed so hard on the timer knob that now the timer knob spins freely (no ratcheting) and is stuck pushed in. I already got the replacement (3954071) but can't get the knob off. I saw two different ways on the net, but can't get either to work:

1) push in knob and a black (?) tab comes out the back or something and you pull that out or something to release the knob. There's no tab that I see, in the middle or side fo the timer...

OR
2) push in and then back out 3/16" and turn counter-clockwise. It's stuck in the pushed in position, so I can't do that.

EDIT: somehow I forced the knob off and was able to get the timer replaced. Thanks for looking.
