Wokeup this morning and found that the refrigerator and freezer was not cooling but the refrigerator had the light working. The digital control display was black with no lights indicating the fridge or freezer temperature. I slid the unit away from wall and disconnected it from the outlet for aprox. 30 seconds and pluged it back in. Now it seems to be working. It has been around 3-4 hours.
I does have ice buildup on the freezer floor and I find water on the kitchen floor every couple of days. I dont know if its related.
At first I thought the control unit went out but after reconnecting it it all seems to be working.

The first thing to do would be to test the ground on the outlet. One of the testers pictured below would work fine and can be had at most hardware stores. Next you could try putting a surge protector on the outlet.
