A couple months after replacing rear bearing and seals we now have the moldy smell problem that these machines are pron to but never had before. I didn't replace the gasket between the barrel half's but there no leaks there. The rubber boot looked good and is glued back into place on the door face. The only thing I can see that maybe causing an issue is there's still water in the pump boot and the water exit line at the end of the spin out. Maybe a pump issue?

It can be. Check the drain pump and the hoses.

Thanks, I'm guessing there should be little if no water left in the boot off the pump and the exit water line. I have water in both.

It does not drain out completely because water works as a lubricant for the pump impeller.
