Here's some history: We noticed the oven will not work when we turn it on. The range top still works and the clock does not work. I plugged a extension cord in one of the outlets and thats when the oven stopped working.

I cannot fond any info on the given model number, please check it.
I am assuming that the oven is controlled by the clock and does not have a separate dial/thermostat. Though you post seems to indicate something different as you mention the oven and the clock as separate items ( oven will not work when we turn it on. The range top still works and the clock does not work)
Does the interior oven light come on when the door is opened. If not you may have a power problem. Try flipping the breaker off/on slowly a couple times, sometimes you can loose half the line without actually tripping the breaker. If this does nothing, check the voltage at the plug L1 to L2 should be 240 volts L1 to Neutral and L2 to Neutral, both should be 120 volts. The clock, oven light etc. usually run off of L1 to Neutral. If OK Unplug the unit and check the wires at the terminal strip in the machine to make sure none are loose or burned out If OK Check the power at the terminal strip. Be careful as 240 volts is lethal !!! |
