my fridge freezer gets really hot on the sides is this normall? it has plenty of air

In any case your problem is often caused by poor air circulation over the condenser coils. The coils are usually under the unit by the compressor. Check that the vents on the rear cover and front kick plate are clean. Check/clean the condenser coils. If the unit has a condenser/compressor fan check that it runs when the compressor runs. Also that it's fan blades are clean. |

thanks for your reply it is in a big gap in omy kitchen its clean got plenty of room round it! it does not have a fan or the grils at the back but it all clean no dust or anythin:D g behind it so cant understand why it get so hot? its only on 3 and it goes up to8! my last f f a hotpoint iced dimound never done it and that was 15 year old be for it died my dad had it be 4 me for years and i had it for ages and i still have the hotpoint aquairius tumble dyer witch is 16 year old does sound quite rough now so dont use it that much. this ff is less then 4year old and i am scared it going to burn my flat down 1 day do u think that could happen? and i live in south wales in the uk and lec is made by zanussi it says on the back if u heard of them quite popular over here in europe dont know if u live over here but thank for your help and any more on what to do would be great thanks colin.

Sorry but I have no experience with lec units. AppliancePartsPros is USA based and I am a Canuck who tries to help a few people on their forum.
You could check the temperatures with a thermometer. The freezer should be 0 to 5 degrees F and the fresh food section around 40 degrees F.
If you know someone who has a similar unit ask them how hot theirs is.
Perhaps call a couple repair/retail places they should be able to say what is normal. |
