water quit coming from the door dispenser just a click and a hum, but ice still dispensed, now the ice maker fill tube is freezing up. The fan in the ice maker seems to keep running till I turn the freezer setting to almost off.

The first thing I would check is the water filter (#790 on the #5 break down diagram). If the filter is more then a year old, it could be clogged causing the restriction to the water flow.

If there is frost in the ice maker water feeding tube - the water inlet valve has to be replaced.

- The part number for the water inlet valve is AP2071736

- The part number for the water filter is MWF

Here are the break down diagrams for the GE refrigerator Model TFX28PBDABB

hi Gene. Thanks for your response. I have since unplugged the fridge and plugged it back. I was checking he icemaker tube, when I burnt my finger on the element under the ice cube tray and now it is not frozen. I hope that the thermostat was in need of resetting and that fixed it. Everything seems to be working now, but the water dispenser in the door. So you think it is the water fill valve? I was told that it is a power module. I like your part better. It is a lot cheaper.

the question is not or should not be price. It costs more to replace what is cheaper and then have to replace the what is correct. Listen to the PRO! I'd put odds on GENE !!!
