...Is it safe to jumper around the flame sensor to be sure its bad?...

You can do it only to see if the burner would light up. You have to stop the dryer right away (just open the door).

Thanks again! I did double check my readings and ordered the part.
It has all ready been shipped. The local parts supplier was more expensive
and would have had to the order the part too.

Hello Gene,

I am having similar issue with my gas dryer ( Kenmore 90 series).
I went thru the above check list, every item was checked ok with multimeter. One thing that I learned to get the heat working is to open/close the door when is running until it stop completely as I press the start button. Once it stop, I repress the start button again then everything is running as normal for few days. Does this make sense? I had cleanned the entire dryer including all contacts. Any other recommendation?

Hadi,

Sorry for the delay.

Very likely the problem is a bad heat relay. It is located inside the control panel. There are two identical relays (#37 & #47 on the diagram), one for motor and the other one for heat. I can not tell exactly which one where goes without the wiring diagram.

- The relay Part number: AP3037419
Part number: AP3037419

Gene,
No worry about the delay.
The heat relay could start to make sense.
I have been taking one of the connector off from the start switch button to stop the cycle. Once it stop I reconnect it back and press the start button again to get the dryer operate and it work fine for few days.

Is it away to test the relay or could it be my start button switch gets stuck sometimes? obviously these things can be fixed. if it's relay, can I just buy one and exchange #47 first to see if that do the trick?

Thanks
Hadi

Hadi,

You can find which relay is for heat by tracking the wires from the relays. Also look for a wiring diagram inside the control panel.

Possible the start switch is bad as well.
