was working but shut down like motor was overheating- would resume after 30 minutes (about)- now just hums- won't agitate or spin but will fill- thought motor was shot - pump turns freely and when belt is on turns freely in agitate and spin direction- could it be capacitor? thanks dkay

This really sounds like a bad motor. These motors have overheating protection, so it sounds like it overheated then cooled down which is why you were able to get it going after 30 minutes. if everything turns and there is nothing stuck in the pump the motor is most likely the culprit.
