Bosch dishwasher has stalled in a wash cycle. It has displayed this behavior for several months. When advanced manually, the cycles will continue until the last wash/rinse cycle and must again be advanced manually.
The other day, a new occurrence - the dishwasher made a "pop" sound and tripped the circuit breaker. My thought is that the timer is not working properly and needs replacement. Is this a fair assessment based on the information I have supplied? What would be the best way to test and what should I be looking for? Is there a way for me to test the timer?

The first problem you described, very likely caused by a bad timer. The second problem points to a some electric short and we don't know what cause it. You have to open the control panel and remove the door panel to check all parts and wires.
The model number you posted is incomplete.
Gene.
