10 year old Amana side by side. Compressor seems to work fine and freezer/icemaker appear ok. However Refigerator is warm. Initially I thought the culpret was ice build up in the coils in the freezer daming airflow. I had manually defrosted and all was well and refigerator cooled properly. This had happend once before several years back which cured the symptoms. However, 5 days after the recent defrost I have a warm fridge. Lots of frost adjacent the air inlet in the bottom of the freezer but doesnt appear compeltely clogged. Fan works fine. Im wondering if it is the damper, or if the defrost thermostat is bad or something different altogether. Its abit frustrating. I've got a 25 year old fridge in the garage still humming away albeit consuming more energy.

Here are your parts Replacement parts for ARS2667B models | AppliancePartsPros.comIt does sound like a defrost problem as your manually defrosting it lasted for 5 days. Is the compressor running continuously? This is also an indication of a defrost problem. Did you pull the evaporator cover and check the evaporator coils themselves. If the compressor is cycling normally then I doubt it is a defrost problem. I would then check the door seals as you may have a air leak and moist air is getting into the unit causing excessive frost. Check that the seal and frame are clean. Take a 2 inch wide piece of paper and place it between the seal and the frame. Then pull it out to see how good the seal is. Work your way around the door. Check the hinge side seal when closing to be sure it is not grabbing and twisting. If it is a light coating of white lithium grease or vaseline often fixes this. If the seals are good and you are also seeing frost (fur) on the freezer walls then it may be a thermostat problem. |

Previously I did pull the cover in the freezer to expose the frosted coils. Lost of frost. The compressor doesn't seem to cycle on all the time. It appears to come on and off. that led me to think it was simply air getting to the fridge from the frost. But perhaps it hasn't build up enough in the freezer for continuously cycling. I will check the seals of the door. I am doubtful that is the culprit but one never knows. I had previoulsy made sure the perimeter was clean.
