I posted a few days ago about my GE electric dryer humming but wouldn't start. I found if I gave the drum a little help it would start up & run. What I found was the centrifigual starter on the back of the motor was not pulling in to start the motor. After I moved it in & out a few times it started working. It may have had some lint/dust on shaft, I'm not sure. But I'm happy I didn't have to buy a motor or a dryer.
