Compressor clicks and hums for about 30 seconds then shuts off. Keeps doing this every few minutes. Compressor eventually starts to get pretty hot but fridge,or freezer compartment, never cools

Don't be too hard on AppliancePartsPros, this site is manned mostly by volunteers. I myself have just started answering questions again after a summer mostly at the cottage. At least there is a forum, most sites do not sponsor anything. I tried to look up your Model Number and could not find it. If the unit is not a US machine, it is difficult to get tech info. Here are a couple good sites which may help you troubleshoot it. Refrigerator Repair Guide: How To Fix a Refrigerator - ACME HOW TO.com http://www.applianceaid.com/frig.htmlMake sure that the compressor fan is running. Could be the compressor start relay or overload. Unfortunately since the compressor does eventually start but you do not get any cooling it sounds like the compressor is shot. In most cases it makes more sense to buy a new fridge as a pro would have to replace and refill the compressor and this is not cheap. |
