We recently purchased a used Whirlpool Double Oven (model # RBD275PDB14) and once installed everything worked fine except neither the Upper Off nor Lower Off buttons work. The only way we can turn off the oven is to shut off the breaker.
No error codes appear and all aspects of the oven work just fine except we can turn the ovens off. We have waited until the preheat is over and still the off buttons don't work.
I've read through the oven repair forum and didn't find this question answered. Do I need a new keypad, control panel, or something else completely? Thanks in advance for your advice.

Your given model number does not come up. Are you sure it is not a PDB14 and not a PBD14. All the below is for a PDB14. Here are the parts Replacement parts for Whirlpool RBD275PDB14 27" BUILT-IN ELECTRIC DOUBLE OVEN STD-CLEAN LOWER SELF-CLEAN UPPER | AppliancePartsPros.comIf you do not have an operators manual, here it is https://www.whirlpool.com/digita...0Guide%20-%208300772.pdfTry a couple other functions that use the off buttons. If they work then you know the keys themselves are working. So I would replace the control board. If they do not work then it does not totally eliminate the control board as the cause. Unfortunately they do not publish the keypad outputs so it cannot be checked independently. You could figure it out using a meter but experience would help and it would be time consuming. Basically you would have to check ever ribbon cable wire combination as you press the off buttons to see if any of them change. You would also have to do this using both polarities of the meter as thye keypad is probably a matrix. If the off keys do not work in other modes I would try the following before ordering a replacement. Connector Cleaning / Checking Unplug the unit Open it up Remove the ribbon cable from the keypad to the control board at the control board. Clean the edge connector. If it is the type where there is not a connector just the insulation is removed, it can be cleaned with a pencil eraser. Do not use an ink eraser as it is too abrasive. Check the tracks in the ribbon cable for hairline cracks. A magnifying glass helps here. Would not hurt to clean the connector on the board. Use electronics contact cleaner or isopropyl alcohol and a tooth brush. Be gentle and do not reconnect till all the solvent evaporates. Reconnect everything and give it a try. |

Did you ever find a solution to this problem. I have to shut mine off using the breaker box. I sent the control board away to be repaired and it came back working finally but after second use the off button didn’t work anymore. Company says it was tested and working fine and I can send it back to them for another $300 and they can send a new keypad that includes a new ribbon wire.
