The fan turns on, everything hums and makes noises but it won't cool down at all even on the highest/coldest setting. When I first turn it on I hear the sound like air leaking/hissing but it goes away within 5 minutes and sounds normal. BUT, it still doesn't cool. I tried taking some photos of the compressor as it was running and I saw some "smoke" or I thought... maybe its freon? I could only see it when the red would come on my camera but not when it would flash. It was hard to see actually but my camera was recently fixed so I don't think its the camera smoking. Nothing smellsl ike smoke. It makes me think it is escaping freon but i dont know.

The warmth was sudden.. it had been working fine. Leaking freon i think would be a gradual thing. It had been running for at least 18 out of the previous 24 months. It is possible that the circuit the fridge was on had some issues. Within a week of the freezer not working i did have to flip the breaker but never found the cause of it being tripped. Maybe connected... maybe not

Hi.

Remove the rear cover inside the freezer and observe the evaporator coils.
Do you see any frost pattern. Just in one corner, top or bottom?
Is the fan running?

Please post the results.

Simon.

Fan does run..... but no, nothing forms on the inside at all. It actually feels a tad warmer inside the freezer after I run it for a half hour than air temp of the room.

Hi.

There is the problem with sealed system.Check the warranty. Normally it's more than 3 years.
The repair could be very costly and require skills and equipment.

Thank you.

Simon.
