Hey Guys, i have a Whirlpool gold quiet partner 3 dishwasher. My problem is it goes through the whole wash cycle w/o opening the soap dispenser. The soap door is clean and springs works great. I did remove the front door and "tested" the wax motor, it has about 250k ohms. Also during washer operation, with my volt meter i am receiving random volts send to wax motor anywhere from 12 to about 25volts. So i assume everything is working except the wax motor?
Just would like your opinion on if this would be the best route to start with.

-Chris If you could provide the actual model # I'd be glad to look up the wiring diagram to see what the voltage should be to the wax motor.

Apologize for not providing that. Is there a way to find the model number w/o pulling the dishwasher out from under the counter? I still have the front cover off, i just cant pull the dishwasher out all the way, gets stuck halfway out and all the cords from under the sink are fully extended. Just wanna avoid disconnecting all the tubes.

thanks again I found a schematic and tech sheet I've linked below for you. From what I'm seeing it doesn't appear to be a wax motor that opens the soap cup. It looks like a solenoid. There is a wax motor, but it looks like it opens the vent. From what I can tell both of those components are on the 120V side of the board. There is a low voltage side which fires up several components but most of them being sensor related. Hope you're familiar with looking at a schematic, because the below one has a lot to it. After looking at the parts breakdown it does show a solenoid on the dispenser. Take a look at it, it should have a marking on the side of it showing what the voltage rating for it is. If it's a 120v coil you can put a test wire on it and see if it snaps closed. You'll probably have to blow up the drawing in order to read it.

Perfect thanks! Im gonna print it out at work tomorrow cause my screen is way to small to scroll around and try to read it :)
What i wanted to ask was on the release door for the soap, it connects to what i thought was the wax motor? When the plunger retracts it pushes that door arm forward to open the soap door, you can manually do it. If your thinking a solenoid opens the soap, is what i think is the wax motor something else?
