My refridgerator seems to be turning itself off. I noticed things were not very cold and that things were defrosting in the freezer. I then turned it up and it would get colder and the items would freeze again, and then the cycle just keeps repeating itself. Help!

Pull the refrigerator out of the wall, remove the rear cover and clean the condenser. Make sure the fan motor next to the compressor works fine.

Gene,
Thank you very much for your reply. I did as you suggested, however, all the dust and everything was actually behind the grid that is located on the front the refridge. Anyway, it appeared to be better for a day or so, but then it just started acting the same way as before. I had begun to read some of your other posts, came up with a possible conclusion that it maybe wasn't anything that had to do with the defrost cycle, no frost build up on the back on the freezer wall. Any thoughts?
Teresa

Teresa,
Have you checked the fan motor next to the compressor?

Gene,
I was wondering if you had anymore suggestions about the fridge--the fan next to the compressor is running.
Thanks Teresa

Remove the rear panel in the freezer and check how the evaporator is covered with snow. If it's not 100% covered with thin snow then it can be a problem with the sealed system.
