the igniter glows ,,but the oven will not lite ..could my regular vave be defective

Very likely the problem is a bad (weak) igniter even if it does glow. The best thing is to check the current drawn by the igniter. If it is 3.2 amps or less then this is the culprit.

Guessing is not a best way to diagnose a problem and it can make repair much more expensive than it suppose to be.
