I have a GE top load washer that will not pump water or spin. It will fill , wash and agitate but stops at the spin cycle. It will go through rinse cycle (if manually selected), but just will not pump the water out and spin.

Remove the front panel and check the lid switch (#388 on the diagram). You can cut off the wires from the lid switch and connect them together for the test only. Make sure that connection is insulated properly. Run the washer to see how it will work.

If it will drain and spin, replace the lid switch.
