No matter where I set the t-stat on my top freezer-refrigerator, the refrigerator freezes. If I set it low enough where the fridge won't freeze, the freezer isn't cold enough. The freezer control (damper) is set from medium position to coldest. Any help is greatly appreciated. model # is FRT21TNGW3

Thanks, I found the thermostat capillary out of position. someone had taken the shroud down to clean, pulled the cap out, and just let it hang behind the shroud. Never would see the cold temp needed to shut down. holds at 37.5* now. Glad I found this forum, been doing commercial air and refrigeration for 30+ years, need help on my own appliances.

I'm glad you were able to find the problem and fix it with no cost to you. It's very hard to find such unpredictable things. Good job.
Gene.
