i have Amana abc2037dtb and I think the defrost timer is electronically controlled from the board. How do I test the defrost cycle on this unit?
I believe the control boards is AP4366538
What are the terminals I can test?

Good evening,
I believe my Kenmore fridge (model # 2537179210A mfg 02/02) is having a defrost issue. The freezer works great and the fridge does not. The fans visibly operate, however there is rapid ice accumulation in the vents toward the bottom of the freezer. I'd like to check the defrost heater, but can't seem to disconnect the ice maker to pull off the back panel. Any advice? I understand that once off, a little snow is okay, no snow is bad and too much snow is verification of a faulty defrost heater and/or defrost timer, correct? Any help is appreciated. Thank you very much.

I have the above model fridge and the fresh food section is 57 while the freezer is showing 15. I tried the troubleshooting method in the first post in this thread but can't find the defrost timer control. Can you help me?

Bob, The ice maker is secured with the three screws, two on the top of the ice maker and one under it. The wire harness plug has two latches, one on the top of the plug and the other one on the bottom. Just push them together and pull the plug out. Hi Gene,
I have a Maytag MBB2256GES. I melted the glacier in back of my freezer, manually turned my defrost timer, and heard the drops sizzling on the heater. I received my timer (Control diag #12) and timer pan (Control diag #5) today.
I don't want to break anything. Can you give me the basic order of disassembly ? I tried lamp lense, rear control cover, temp control belt, timer pan. I think I need to remove the front cover also, but I don't see how.
Thanks for any help you can give me.
