I have a 14 year old Frigidaire refrigerator that the compressor was not energizing so i taped on the start/run relay and it started the compressor. It ran until the fridge was cooled to 30 degrees inside but the compressor would not stop so i adjusted the temp control switch to off and it shut off. I left the door open to see if the compressor would kick on again and it didn't so i disconnected the start/run relay from the compressor and found one (of the 3) power pins broken off from the compressor and lodged in the relay connector and showed signs of heat/burn. My question is it worth my time to replace the compressor and relay or simply junk the refrigerator all together?
Thank you, Pat

Way too expensive to fix. Next fridg, use a 1000 joule surge protector in the wall outlet, will prevent problems, or buy a GE fridg.
