I`am waiting on Sears Canada to send a new defrost thermostat.

Can I still operate the refigerator ?

Seems to be working fine.

The unit will work fine,Until it trys to defrost. If you connected the 2 wires together, It will defrost, if you just taped them up(but not together) It will NOT defrost!!!! After a couple of days, the unit will frost-up and stop cooling!!! The defrost thermostat is a SAFTEY DEVICE!!!! DO NOT run the unit for a long period of time without it!!!!!!!:)
