GFC525F GE garbage disposal less than 1-y old.

It worked fine the last time I used it. Failed to respond when I flipped on switch just now. Had only tiny pieces of radish in the disposal.

Checked circuit breaker; it was on, but flipped it off-on again just to be sure.

Could not find a reset button on the disposal. Found a tiny red button that does not depress; but pushed it, tried to move it anyway; no change.

Manually turned the disposal blades with my hands; no change.

Now what do I do?

I would find the wire or the plug under the sink that supplies power to it. If it is just plugged into an outlet you can take the disposer plug out and plug in a lamp or something to see if it works.

If it is direct wired. You would need to know about electricity and using a meter.

In my experience if the blades turn and the red reset buttons is in, the breaker is on, the outlet or box that powers the disposal under the sink works ok.

The only thing left especially with a new install is a loose wire/ connection.
Can you ask the person who put it in to check their wiring?

Good Luck let us know how you make out.

:D

Thank you!

I am officially an idiot.

Yes, there was plug not fully inserted under the kitchen sink.

When I reinserted the plug, the disposal works just fine.

THANK YOU!!
