I had a frost encased freezer. I chipped out the frost and in doing so , must have harmed the cooling coil. After I was done there was a slight hissing noise like escapping gas and then over the last 48 hours the unit has lost all its cooling.

Can I repair this? Do I replace the cooling unit?

Any help will be appreciated.

Leaving it plugged in caused the compressor to suck in moisture, thus damaging the internal surfaces of the compressor=new compressor time.

Is this repairable? If so, do you sell the parts.

Thanks.

You need a new evaporator, compressor and dryer=about $600 including labor.
